When you apply for a new role, your resume and application are very important but not quite as important as your interview. Interviewing is a crucial step in the selection process. See some tips and tricks to succeed in your interview below.
Complete your research before your interview. Research recent news articles involving the company, its mission, vision, and goals. Also, research the details of the position that you applied for and tie those skills or job duties to your current or previous experiences.
Practice. Research some common interview questions and practice your responses.
Be prompt. Show up a few minutes early to ensure that you can find proper parking and are not in a rush.
Be positive. Don’t talk poorly about past jobs or employers. Focus on the positives and your experience, rather than negativity.
Follow-up after the interview. Be sure to send a thank you email or note to the team or person who hosted your interview.
