SERVING INDUSTRY ORGANIZATIONS AND THE COMMUNITIES IN WHICH WE LIVE AND SERVE

Every year, ACRT Services consistently gives back to our industry and the communities we’re working in. We’re frequently involved with sponsoring events or initiatives as an organization, and we’re always encouraging our employees to get involved with a local project or organization. Here are just a few of the ways ACRT Services and our employees are giving back.

UTILITY ARBORIST ASSOCIATION

The Utility Arborist Association (UAA) has a commitment to the maintenance of trees and other vegetation for the purpose of ensuring the safe and reliable distribution of energy, including electric, oil and gas, to business and residences. All ACRT and ACRT Pacific employees receive complimentary memberships after one year of service. The UAA is an organization where utility arborists employed by electric utilities can network and share information. Many of our employees also serve on various committees. We are also proud recipients of the Partners in Excellence Gold (PinE) Award, recognizing us for our contributions.

SALUTING BRANCHES

We have been a partner sponsor of Saluting Branches since its inception eight years ago and continue to grow that partnership every year. We fully support their mission of honoring American service men and women by organizing volunteer tree and landscape care for the property dedicated to our veterans. Without our brave military, our freedoms would not be guaranteed. Employees across the organization participate in Saluting Branches’ annual Day of Service.

SUPPORTING THE TREE FUND

ACRT Services is a platinum-level donor to the Tree Research & Education Endowment (TREE) Fund — a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to supporting scientific discovery and dissemination of new knowledge in the fields of arboriculture (the science of cultivating and managing trees in a landscape) and urban forestry.

PARTICIPATING IN THE TOUR DES TREES

For nearly two decades, our employees have participated in the annual Tour des Trees cycling event, which supports the TREE Fund by raising money for scientific research and education programs related to arboriculture and urban forestry. We have proudly supported this at a platinum partner level.

INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY OF ARBORICULTURE

ACRT and ACRT Pacific employees qualify for free credentialing in the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), which promotes the professional practice of arboriculture and fosters a greater worldwide awareness of the benefits of trees. Our team members frequently support or participate in the ISA as well.

AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION

In partnership with a client, we participate in the American Heart Association’s (AHA) annual Heart Walk, raising money for programs like Check. Change. Control. This program educates people about monitoring and managing high cholesterol. Our donation helps with advocacy programs and supporting innovative research focused on cardiovascular disease, the nation’s leading killer. The AHA funds more heart and stroke research than any organization outside of the federal government.

SCHOLARSHIPS

We live our brand of people first. We have many opportunities to earn free training and development. We have several scholarships available within our company and externally to the public. Employees can apply for one of two annual safety scholarships dedicated to our founding father, Richard E. Abbott. Externally, we have been generous donors to the UAA Nelsen Money Scholarship Program, providing financial support for university and college students to foster a greater appreciation of the utility arboriculture industry. We also donate frequently to individual colleges and universities nationwide to build awareness of our industry.
