Looking to become an arborist or switch jobs? Check out these quick interview tips for arborists to help you stand out and land the role you want.

Skills. When you are interviewing for an arborist role, employers are looking for knowledge of tree care, the physical ability to work outdoors, and a strong interest in the environment.

Practice common interview questions. You can research some common interview questions, but employers will most likely want to know about your previous experience, and specific examples of times that you have utilized skills such as tree identification, customer service, and safety.

Be prepared to give specific examples of situations that you have encountered in the past and point to successful outcomes when you have demonstrated these skills.

Talk to other arborists. If you are interested in becoming an arborist, reach out to people in your network who have this experience. If you don’t know anyone, do a quick search on LinkedIn and message someone with experience that you admire. Most people are willing to have a conversation and point you in the right direction.
