Another Trees & Utilities is in the books! We hope our presentations left attendees buzzing with excitement and newfound knowledge. This year’s conference hosted industry professionals from 46 states and eight countries across the globe. As we bid farewell to this year’s Trees & Utilities, we carry with us a wealth of ideas and strategies to shape the future of the utility vegetation management industry.
ACRT Services and Our Family of Companies on Display
Our team had the opportunity to connect with attendees on the trade show floor where the ACRT Services booth was often overflowing with guests. During many excellent conversations, we discussed and demonstrated some of our latest products and technology, including the Arborcision, BIOaudit™, Satelytics, and more.
Utility Arborist Association (UAA) Awards
Our organization continues to shine year after year — standing out as the best and brightest in the industry. The following individuals were honored with UAA awards this year. Congratulations and thank you for your hard work and dedication to supporting the industry!
Utility Arborist Award
C. Troy Ross, Chief Operating Officer, ACRT Services
The Utility Arborist Award is presented to an individual who has made a significant contribution to the field of Utility Arboriculture.
Ross has been working with our organization for more than two decades and now leads our operations. He has been extremely active in the industry throughout his career and is a past director of the UAA.
Will Nutter Silver Shield Award
Adrienne Jones, Safety Manager, ACRT, and Jerry Staton, Senior Operations Manager, ACRT
Created from ideas by former UAA Safety Committee Chair Will Nutter, this award is given to a person on the front line of safety with official or unofficial roles in an organization. They influence and promote a safety culture at every turn.
Jones is heavily involved in safety in our industry. She serves as a TCIA Certified Treecare Safety Professional, an NSC-certified Defensive Driving Course Instructor, a First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor, and a member of the UAA Safety Committee.
Staton has been with our organization since 2010, serving as Storm Team manager and a former member of the ACRT Services Board of Directors. He is a member of the UAA Safety Committee and is an ISA Certified Arborist and Utility Specialist.
UAA Partners in Excellence (PinE) Award
The UAA recognizes companies annually with score-based PinE Awards for their exceptional support through membership, volunteerism, sponsorship, and more. ACRT Services subsidiaries ACRT and ACRT Pacific received Gold-level awards.
High-Stakes Appreciation Night
We enjoyed a great night meeting up with customers and colleagues in our casino wonderland! Attendees enjoyed blackjack, roulette, and more while having drinks and relaxing the night before the show. Thank you to everyone who joined us!
Educational Sessions
Experts from across our organization shared industry insights with attendees during three presentations on Wednesday, Sept. 13.
- Anand Persad, Director of Research, Science, and Innovation at ACRT Services, moderated the sold-out Women in Vegetation Management Workshop.
- Adrienne Jones, ACRT safety manager, and David Burke, director of operations at ACRT, taught attendees how to take safety out of the silo through their presentation.
- Rich Hendler, integrated vegetation management specialist at ACRT Services, offered a valuable overview of fully integrated vegetation management programs.
- K. Youngblood, ACRT Pacific safety manager and tribal liaison, taught session attendees the ABCs of tribal outreach.
